We support companies on either side of M&A transactions in the passenger transport sector. This includes assignments to quantify and then realise operational efficiencies, pre and post acquisition.
For example, a major transport group wanted to prepare an airport services subsidiary for divestment. We reviewed the existing approach to workforce planning and identified a lack of understanding of how staff rosters were impacting the profit contribution of customer contracts and combinations of contracts, at individual airports.
As a result, we helped the management team to develop new decision support tools that enabled negative contribution contracts to be re-negotiated or relinquished. Organisational changes were made to strengthen the interface between the commercial and operational functions, and management tools were introduced to help control costs. As a result of this work, operating margins were improved and the business was successfully divested.
